{"id":2732,"date":"2026-09-03T13:35:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T11:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theredjackets.lv\/?post_type=projekta_zina&#038;p=2732"},"modified":"2026-09-03T13:35:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T11:35:15","slug":"from-idea-to-production-what-support-is-available-for-dual-use-companies-in-latvia","status":"publish","type":"projekta_zina","link":"https:\/\/theredjackets.lv\/en\/projektu-zinas\/from-idea-to-production-what-support-is-available-for-dual-use-companies-in-latvia\/","title":{"rendered":"From Idea to Production: What Support Is Available for Dual-Use Companies in Latvia?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development of dual-use and defence technologies has become an important part of Latvia\u2019s industrial policy, with support available to companies at different stages of growth \u2013 from the first idea and prototype to production, capacity expansion and large-scale investment projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the current&nbsp;<strong>EU funding period 2021\u20132027<\/strong>, more than&nbsp;<strong>EUR 270 million<\/strong>&nbsp;has been allocated to the development of Latvia\u2019s defence industry and dual-use technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available support includes funding for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Research and development<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 support for developing new products, prototypes and technological solutions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovation and productivity loans<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 financing for companies moving towards production or expanding existing production;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Large investment projects<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 support for significant production expansion and industrial development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Guarantees<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 helping companies access bank financing when additional collateral is needed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthening industrial capabilities for defence<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 support for new production facilities, infrastructure, technologies and equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Companies can also benefit from Latvia\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>\u201cGreen Corridor\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;for faster processing of permits and public services, as well as Ministry of Defence grants and opportunities for research and development cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interest in these programmes is already high.
